The Good |
The martinis, the waiters, any of the steaks, asparagus with hollandaise |
The Bad |
Their chicken pie had way too many peas and carrots for my liking. |
The Vibe |
Classy, old school, dark, “posh” eatery with wonderful REAL leather booths just daring you NOT to order a martini. |

Notes |
Hollywood’s oldest restaurant (established in 1919), locals and tourists NEED to visit at least once. Note to tourists: keep the shorts and flip flops in your suitcase. Dressy casual is the minimum dress mode. The waiters are wonderfully seasoned…our waiter was “the new guy,” having been there for “only” 30 years. I really must try their breakfasts. If you have, let me know what you thought. Closed every Sunday and Monday. Validated parking in their lot could be costly if you linger over dinner. It’s cheaper to park across the street from the lot on Cherokee in the parking structure. |
